Hola, let me tell you a bit about myself

With a Fine Arts academic background, I started on painting, working on watercolors and acrylic large-sized canvas, having been involved in several exhibitions around Europe such as ARCO-Spain, ART ATHINA-Greece and BCJEM-Italy.

Through practice, almost entirely self-taught, I then furthered my knowledge in model making and illustration, which led me to work as a model maker and infographic artist for National Geographic. In this role, I handle several disciplines such as scientific or historic research, storyboarding, building props, creating sets and digital illustration.

Passionate about handcrafted work, I moved to England in 2018 where I trained in miniature model making and prop making for film and theatre and worked in several animation projects. What I really enjoy most about the creative process, is creating sets and looking into ways of expression, combining sculpture and painting in order to discover different forms of storytelling.

My personal work explores abstraction and figurativeness and I enjoy losing myself in the process.

I love to improvise with the path and lines left by the tool I use on clay or plaster material, and to ponder on how what could be a wrong movement with the tool, can suddenly become an eye or a mouth. The same thing with painting with watercolors; from one stroke... a work can almost take on a mind of its own, creating shapes and figures by itself, opening up new possibilities and causing the outcome to be less predictable…

I currently work with watercolors, acrylic, clay, paper and, plaster, using a combination of brushes and hand-made tools.
