Serie Equilibrio
The definition of ‘balance’ is the state of a body that, despite having a small base of support, remains standing. Inspired by the delicate balance of motherhood, I have created this series of illustrations called ‘EQUILIBRIO’. Dedicated to all the sleepless women striving to balance creativity and family, this exhibition will be on display at @espacionuca
La definición de ‘equilibrio’ es la situación de un cuerpo que, a pesar de tener poca base de sustentación, se mantiene sin caerse. Esto también es una madre agotada. Dedicada a ellas, a las mujeres no durmientes, y a lo difícil pero inspirador que es intentar mantener el equilibrio entre la vida creativa y familiar, he creado esta serie de ilustraciones llamada ‘EQUILIBRIO’, que estará expuesta en @espacionuca
One story
The story of how three Swedish engineers attempted to cross the North Pole by balloon was the first project I published for National Geographic. As part of the research, I made several watercolors based on the photographs Nils took, which are part of the infographic published in the magazine in 2015.
This exhibition is a series of scenes, some fictional and some based on Nils' photographs, that try to reconstruct this expedition.
La historia de cómo tres ingenieros suecos intentaron cruzar el Polo Norte en globo fue el primer proyecto que publiqué para National Geographic. Como parte de la investigación, realicé varias acuarelas basadas en las fotografías que tomó Nils, las cuales forman parte de la infografía publicada en la revista en 2015.
Esta exposición es una serie de escenas, algunas ficticias y otras basadas en las fotografías de Nils, que intentan reconstruir esta expedición.
Herbarium, Jeanne’s travel journey
Series of watercolour illustrations inspired by Jeanne Baret's collection of species on her journey around the world. In addition to thousands of plants, she collected different types of fish which, at the time, were catalogued in a peculiar way, drying the skins and preserving them in paper as if they were plants. This was called a fish herbarium.
Serie de ilustraciones en acuarela inspirada en la recolección de especies que hizo Jeanne Baret en su viaje alrededor del mundo. Además de miles de plantas, recolectó diferentes tipos de peces que, por aquel entonces, se catalogaban de una forma peculiar, secando las pieles y conservándolas entre papeles como si fueran plantas. A esto se le llamaba herbario de peces.
Cluedo
Fictional story based on real events, comprising a series of character illustrations. Based on a box I found in a storage room. It has been closed for 80 years. Inside there are letters and photos of a man called Clementino Villa who seems to have died in this corrala in strange circumstances. The forensic report doesn't fit with the contents of this box, there are too many loose ends... In a house where almost all the neighbours seem guilty, can you help me find out what happened?
Historia de ficción basada en hechos reales, compuesta por una serie de ilustraciones de personajes. Todo parte de una caja que encontré en un trastero. Llevaba 80 años cerrada. Dentro hay cartas y fotos de un hombre llamado Clementino Villa, quien parece haber muerto en esta corrala en circunstancias extrañas. El informe forense no encaja con el contenido de esta caja; hay demasiados cabos sueltos...¿puedes ayudarme a descubrir qué pasó?
Neuronal - CIRONLab
CIRON is a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre specialising in the care and recovery of people with different types of disabilities, both physical and cognitive. For its new centre CIRONLAB, I have created a series of works where I relate the neuronal system with the natural world. This series of works is an invitation to explore this connection between the plant world and our brains. Each piece represents a moment of growth, of adaptation, of transformation. Like a seed that grows into a tree, we too have the capacity to overcome challenges and reach our full potential.
CIRON es un Centro Integral de Rehabilitación especializado en la atención y recuperación de personas con diferentes tipos de discapacidades, tanto físicas como cognitivas. Para su nuevo centro CIRONLAB, he creado una serie de obras donde relaciono el sistema neuronal con el mundo natural. Es una invitación a explorar esta conexión entre el mundo vegetal y nuestro cerebro. Cada pieza representa un momento de crecimiento, de adaptación, de transformación. Al igual que una semilla que se convierte en un árbol, nosotros también tenemos la capacidad de superar los desafíos y alcanzar nuestro máximo potencial.
